Justin the Just

For all ages

1915. War is uncharted territory, and Justin—a poor farmer—is sent off to fight at a time when he should be tending his fields. He must go to war, in the name of a law he knows nothing about, against an enemy he has never seen, even though his only dream is to stay on his farm. His encounter with Basile, a Senegalese infantryman, will open his eyes to this war he doesn’t understand. It is alongside Basile that he will rebel against the injustices of an absurd command structure and become a hero unlike any other.

Inspired by Jean Pompougnac’s *Justin-le-Juste* and *La charrette*.
