Dweller-landscapersWith this thematic exhibition it will be a question of showing the plastic mechanisms of a popular aesthetics of landscape.
The suburbs offered real imaginary gardens within spaces squeezed between gates and pavilions, or painted on the walls of dwellings by what B. Lassus calls "landscape dwellers" simple residents who modified their living environment.
Dissatisfied with the original state of the spaces assigned by the builder, they created miniature landscape gardens, on different scales, which welcomed their imaginary world often inspired by a dream world; a world of fable with the forest and fragments of a vanished nature.
Space of a dream, each of their creations is devoid of practical utility.
The eyes of the observer, who enters in these residences rendered landscapes, collect a tactile, measured space, with limitless visibility, to read and to know.
Only the one who participates in the dream can understand the imagination that animates the place: the garden.
