Romain Thiery, living near Montpellier is a self-taught professional photographer, born in 1988 in Dordogne. As an amateur pianist, the artist believes that the piano is "deeply rooted in our culture" and explores the instrument from an original angle. He combines his two passions and has set out to search for abandoned manor houses throughout Europe where old pianos had been forgotten. The series based on the works of Romain Thiery is entitled "Requiem for pianos" and has made the photographer's fame take off.
In recent years, he has won international prizes in various photography competitions and festivals all over the world.
Parallel to this exhibition, there is a presentation of the piano instrument and the profession of tuner.
